For advanced cases of varicose veins where ulcer is developed this procedure is used.

  • Endovenous thermal ablation

Here a thin tube is inserted into the veins and thereafter heat is applied so that the vein may collapse. Blood then flows through healthy veins nearby. This treatment is meant for treating larger varicose veins.

  • Laser surgery

Here laser beam is used, the heat of which can help in destroying spider vein without harming the skin. As compared to sclerotherapy that is mentioned below it is less effective in treating varicose veins of the legs. There are few side effects too like discoloration, blistering or bruising.

  • Micro-sclerotherapy

This treatment is quite similar to sclerotherapy that has been mentioned below. However, in this case while injecting certain different solution is injected and this treatment is especially meant for treating spider veins.

  • Sclerotherapy

In this procedure, doctor injects the veins with certain solution that can close the veins and the blood is made to flow through veins that are healthier. Though it is very common treatment however with this option you may need multiple treatments. For small or medium sized varicose veins, this treatment is quite useful.

  • Surgical vein stripping

Here varicose vein is removed by surgical procedure in knee, groin and ankle. For larger varicose veins, this option is used.
